World-famous Lego builder coming to Topeka Zoo

26 February 2024

TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Topeka Zoo & Conservation Center has announced a five-month exhibit from a world-renowned Lego builder.

Sean Kenney has been recognized by the likes of the Smithsonian Magazine, the Washington Post and Business Insider for his lego sculptures of animals. The traveling exhibition will display creatures that have their own “superpowers” and the science behind them.

“Working with the Topeka Zoo has been a wonderful experience, especially since they share our passion for community involvement,” Manager of Customer Operations for Giant Communications Norm Johnson said. “We couldn’t be more excited to build something at the Topeka Zoo.”

The exhibit will show evolutionary, biological and environmental reasons for adaptations in the natural world. It will send attendees on a trip to several buildings throughout the zoo, according to Fawn Moser, Interim Zoo Director.
