WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Starbucks says workers at the Tyler and Central location in west Wichita have voted not to join the union. According to Starbucks, the workers voted 13-5 on Wednesday against joining Starbucks Workers United.
The vote has to be certified by the National Labor Relations Board.
KSN News has reached out to the union for a response.
In the meantime, Starbucks says it is pleased that workers have chosen to maintain a direct relationship with managers. It calls employees partners.
Our commitment to all partners to offer a bridge to a better future remains unchanged … we welcome the opportunity to continue working side-by-side with partners at the Tyler & Central, Wichita, Kansas location. Our core focus throughout this process has been to ensure that every partner engaged in a union representation election can trust the process is fair, their voice and vote are considered, and that the final outcome is true and accurate.”
