OSAGE COUNTY (KSNT) – Two northeast Kansas women were left seriously injured Friday night following a highway crash in Osage County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) says the crash occurred just after 9 p.m. on April 5 on U.S. 75 Highway about half-a-mile north of East 173rd Street. A Ford Fiesta was heading north on the highway while a Mazda CX7 was traveling south.
The Mazda crossed the center line, striking the Ford in the middle of the northbound lanes. The driver of the Mazda, a 25-year-old Topeka woman, was left with serious injuries following the crash. The driver of the Ford, a 42-year-old Silver Lake woman, was also seriously injured.
The KHP says both drivers were taken to a Topeka hospital for treatment of their injuries. Both women were wearing their seatbelts during the crash.
