Woman arrested for arson after house fire in north Topeka

TOPEKA (KSNT) – A woman is under arrest following a house fire report in the north Topeka area on Sunday morning.

Rosie Nichols with the City of Topeka said in a press release that firefighters with the Topeka Fire Department (TFD) were called to a residence around 10 a.m. on Jan. 28 in the 1400 block of NE Quincy Street. Fire crews found smoke and flames coming from a one-and-a-half-story home.


Topeka man sentenced for armed robbery at AutoZone

Everyone inside the home was able to get out uninjured before the TFD arrived. A follow-up investigation showed around $30,000 in damages was caused by the fire which was determined to have been intentionally set. A 27-year-old Topeka woman was arrested on arson charges in connection to the fire.
