Windy weather to start the week with a wild swing in temperatures ahead

24 March 2024

What We’re Tracking

Brief warm-up Monday

Cold midweek with freeze likely, possibly light snow

Much warmer late week

Off and on rain tonight with temperatures dropping into the middle to upper 40s west, but holding closer to 50° over the eastern half of the region. Initially, warm south wind will bring in a big warm-up for the eastern counties on Monday, but an approaching cold front will create the set-up for a wide range in temperatures by midday.

We’ll keep a close eye on this system as temperatures may turn chilly as it passes through during the day on Monday. We will clear out for some sunshine during the day on Monday, but if temperatures get cool enough later Monday evening, it’s not out of the question that we could see some light snow showers trying to move in to our western and central counties.

Highs get a bit cooler in the 40s and 50s for Tuesday and Wednesday with lows in the lower 20s. However, we do appear to rebound back into the 60s by Thursday. We will see even warmer weather by the end of the week with highs in the 70s likely.
