Widespread showers, and even some storms, expected today

Rain becomes likely later this morning, and we may even see showers lingering into Friday, as well. Along with the showers, a few thunderstorms are also possible, especially Thursday afternoon and evening. We’re likely to see some beneficial rain with this system, too, with a widespread 0.25″-0.50″ of rain expected with locally higher amounts possible in the eastern half of the area.

Highs get a bit cooler with the rain chances, though. We’re looking at middle 50s for today, which is quite a bit closer to the average for this time of the year. Tomorrow may feel even chillier as our winds pick up tomorrow. Temperatures will likely be stuck in the 40s with wind chills in the 20s and 30s through much of the day.

However, the weekend looks sunny and temperatures rebound a bit on Sunday back into the lower 60s. We continue to rebound temperature-wise as we kick off next week. With quite a bit of sunshine, we’ll eventually make it into the upper 60s and lowers 70s for the first half of the week. Our next chance for showers and storms looks to arrive by the middle of next week.
