WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A lot of Kansans got outside today to enjoy the incredible weather.
It’s been an unseasonably warm day out today and people in Wichita took advantage.
Most forms of outdoor fun were on the table. Picnicking, biking and playing… all popular outdoor activities.
People said they’re grateful for a break from the cold. For Elena Boyle, nice weather means it’s time to take a stroll outside.
If you want the best view, well, that’s when you hitch a ride on a grown-up’s shoulders.
“I saw a tree cause it hit me in the head,” said Elana Boyle, who hit her head while riding on her mom’s friend’s shoulders.
Omar Lopez is staying closer to the ground with a family picnic.
He’s grateful it’s warm so he can finally go outside with his kids.
“There’s not much to do when it’s cold out. We don’t really wanna get out when its cold out.”
His kids and their dog finally got a chance to run around and play.
“He likes to chase bubbles. so we’ve got some bubbles and he’ll chase the bubbles around,” said Omar Lopez.
For couple Jeremy Moffatt and Ellie Simmons, it’s a chance to do something new together.
“I’m ecstatic,” Simmons said. “I am such a spring lover so it makes me feel better in every way.”
As for Elana, she’s staying firmly on ground level.
“I like going to the park, going on scooters and my hoverboard and that’s really all,” Elana said.
Moffett said he’s enjoying the warmth as much as he can before it cools off again.
