Wichita to remove some trees along Museum Boulevard

29 January 2024

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW)— The City of Wichita says some trees will have to go for progress to continue on the new water treatment facility.

On Monday, the city posted four pictures of trees scheduled to be removed along Museum Boulevard in the coming months.

The city says the trees being removed should not be a surprise since they were slated for removal from the beginning of the project. Planners say they have tried to avoid removing as many trees as possible.

The city says it will replant more trees than the ones being removed.

Drivers along Museum Boulevard will face intermittent lane closures over the coming months. Work will also be done in some of the adjacent museum parking lots.

The museums along Museum Boulevard will remain open, but visitors may want to plan a few extra minutes in case they have to navigate around lane and parking lot issues.
