Wichita school board to decide on 6 closures

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The Wichita Board of Education will meet tonight to vote on the proposed school closures. The meeting will be at 6 p.m. at North High School (1437 N. Rochester).

Last month, the board heard a recommendation to close six schools by the end of the year. It is an effort to cut a minimum of $16 million.

The six schools are:

Clark Elementary

Cleaveland Traditional College and Career Readiness Magnet Elementary 

Park Elementary

Payne Elementary

Hadley Middle School

Jardine STEM and Career Explorations Academy Magnet Middle School
