Wichita Police Department hosting another Second Chance Thursday

WICHITA, Kan. (KNSW) — The Wichita Police Department is hosting another Second Chance Thursday. It will be from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on March 28 at the Carl G. Brewer Recreational Center, 1329 E. 16th St. N.

Second Chance Thursdays allow the WPD to get people new court dates for City of Wichita traffic warrants, environmental court warrants, notice-to-appear warrants and probation violation warrants. The WPD will not be able to assist with Sedgwick County warrants or criminal warrants. They are still bookable.

The DMV’s driver’s license bureau will be there to assist with suspended licenses and license reinstatement. They will not be able to help with recovered driver’s licenses.

The Kansas International Driver’s Licence School will have Spanish-speaking certified drivers Ed to help ESL drivers get their driver’s licenses in Kansas.

The Wichita Municipal Court will be there to help with payment plans and with any questions about scheduling future court dates.

Next Step will also be in attendance to help citizens who are currently on parole or probation with education and job opportunities.

Spanish-speaking employees will be in attendance to assist.
