Wichita Police Department graduates 19 new officers

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW)- On Thursday morning, the Wichita Police Department held a ceremony for newly graduated officers at Central Community Church.

Wichita Police Chief Joe Sullivan spoke at the ceremony along with Mayor Lily Wu and a couple of others.

The police academy started with 25 recruits, then it narrowed down to the final 19.

The officers trained for 26 weeks starting back in July.
