TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – Two separate issues causing problems statewide for Kansas state agencies Thursday have been resolved.
On March 21, numerous government agencies in Kansas reported internet issues. This came at the same time as problems were being reported at the national level involving DMV facilities, according to a report from Newsnation. Most of the issues being experienced in Kansas were reportedly resolved by 4 p.m.
Director of Public Affairs Allie Denning with the Office of Information Technology Services (OITS) told KSN that two separate problems were reported on March 21. The first involved the state of Kansas’ internet network maintained by OITS. She said internet access was temporarily knocked out because of a hardware problem. This was resolved by 4:15 p.m., with all services restored.
The second issue regarding the loss of DMV services nationwide is related to an outage first reported by The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA). Denning also confirms this problem has been resolved.
The network outage that affected multiple DMV offices across the country has been resolved. The Treasurer’s Office is able to process motor vehicle and driver’s licenses today.”
