TOPEKA (KSNT) – St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner and you’ll find there are more than a few different ways to celebrate the occasion in Topeka.
From partying in the downtown area to finding a local pub for eats and drinks, there are plenty of places to visit in the days leading up to Sunday, March 17 to help get you in the mood for St. Patrick’s Day. Take a look at the list below to find a place to celebrate the occasion with family and friends this year.
Happy Basset’s St. Patrick’s Day Celebration
What: Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at this local brewery by drinking some green beer and eating up Irish food. Special St. Patrick’s Day cocktails will also be on hand with music provided by ‘Black Water Blind.’
When: 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 16
Where: 510 SW 49th Street
Topeka Irish Fest
What: From authentic Irish food to craft beers and whiskey tastings, the Topeka Irish Fest has a lot to offer guests. This free event will have multiple vendors and live music provided by ‘Carswell & Hope’ for people to enjoy.
When: Events start at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 16
Where: Downtown Topeka/Evergy Plaza
St. Patrick’s Day Parade
What: People in downtown Topeka can enjoy parade floats and fun at the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on the holiday weekend. The parade runs south through the downtown area on Kansas Avenue before looping back north on SW Jackson Street at SW 10th Avenue.
When/where: Line up begins at 10 a.m. at Fourth and Kansas Avenue. Parade starts at noon.
St. Patrick’s Day at the Celtic Fox Irish Pub and Restaurant
What: This restaurant in downtown Topeka has a lot going on this year for St. Patrick’s Day. You can grab a mug of green beer, take part in the Irish Breakfast or listen to some of the live music being offered.
When: Irish Breakfast starts at 9 a.m., ‘Chance Encounter’ performs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and the St. Patrick’s Party & Irish Folk Music show starts at 7 p.m.

Forge at Irish Fest
What: Forge Young Talent will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day by offering local young professionals a chance to have fun together. Forge will meet at the fire pit in Evergy Plaza before heading out to explore what the area has to offer in terms of food, drinks, games and more. St. Paddy’s Throwdown at Axe & Ale
What: Locals are invited to take part in axe throwing, St. Paddy’s-themed beverages, photo opportunities and more at Topeka’s Axe & Ale. People are encouraged to reserve a spot in advance. Those wearing green on March 17 will receive a 17% discount on axe-throwing sessions.
When: Begins at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 15 and ends at 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 17.

St. Patrick’s Day Shamrock Challenge at Bonkers
What: Bonkers in Topeka is holding a special challenge for guests through to St. Patrick’s Day. People are invited to guess how many shamrocks are packed into a jar with the closest guess resulting in a $25 Bonkers Play Card.
When: 11 a.m. on Friday, March 15 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 17.

St. Patrick’s Day Party at The Legendary Boobie Trap Bar
What: People are invited to head down to The Legendary Boobie Trap Bar in central Topeka on Saturday night to celebrate with live music from ‘DJ S.Light’. The event costs $5 to attend.
When: 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday, March 16
Where: 1417 SW Sixth Avenue
St. Patrick’s Day-themed cookie decorating class at the HIVE
What: This craft workshop in west Topeka will be holding a St. Patrick’s Day cookie decorating course for attendees this Thursday.
When: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 14
Where: 4034 SW Huntoon Street
St. Patrick’s Day at Churchill’s
What: Topeka cigar shop Churchill’s is holding a special event this St. Patrick’s Day weekend. Guests can expect to find Alec Bradley brand cigars with sales representatives on hand to answer questions. Food, soft drinks and water will be provided for attendees.
When: Noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 16
Where: 5324 SW 17th Street
