WATCH: KU wide receivers discuss loyalty, unselfishness on K-Nation

6 February 2024

LAWRENCE (KSNT) – KU will return all three of its top wideouts from the 2023 season.

The Jayhawks bring back a combined 119 games of college football between Lawrence Arnold, Luke Grimm and Quentin Skinner. The trio of pass-catchers all came to KU in 2020 and stayed loyal to the program, despite a coaching change and winning just two games total in their first two seasons.

“We kind of just stuck together throughout all the hard times, and stuff through COVID, where it was nothing to do,” Grimm said.

“We was losing, but we was building chemistry,” Arnold said. “We went out of our way to text each other like ‘Hey, let’s go get some extra work in.’ That built that relationship to where it was more than football, like it was a real brotherhood.”

The group also embodies unselfishness in an offense with multiple impressive running backs and only so many targets to go around.

“I mean we definitely want the ball,” Grimm clarified. “But we want to win games… as long as we’re winning games, we’re good.”

Grimm, Arnold and Skinner sat down with 27 Sports Director Glenn Kinley for an exclusive interview which aired on Sunday’s K-Nation.
