MANHATTAN (KSNT) – There were many incredible moments for K-State basketball, on the men’s and women’s side, in the 2023-24 season.
The women’s team climbed as high as No. 2 in the country and earned a spot as a host for the first weekend of the NCAA tournament.
The men’s team didn’t quite meet its own expectations, missing the big dance and finishing 19-15 overall, but still managed to go 7-0 in overtime and deliver some electrifying late-game plays.
The K-Nation team compiled some of the top plays from both Wildcat teams and aired them in Sunday’s K-Nation.
10. Cam Carter throws down an alley-oop from Tylor Perry as K-State beat Chicago State
9. A bonus double-highlight: Eliza Maupin banks home a lob from Serena Sundell in the Sunflower Showdown, plus delivers a big-time block against WVU
8. This one was more of a performance than a specific play: Ayoka Lee goes for 34 points and 12 rebounds in just 26 minutes of playing time against the Mountaineers
7. A last-second winner from Jaelyn Glenn on the three-quarters-court assist from Serena Sundell as the Wildcats topped UCF (Note: This highlight had to be covered with photos for the clip attached at the top of this article due to broadcast rights)
6. A play that was in contention for being much higher on the list: Tylor Perry’s step-back three gives K-State the lead and the win in overtime against Villanova
5. Zyanna Walker drills a three-pointer at the third quarter buzzer to give K-State the lead and all the momentum against UT. The Wildcats would go on to beat the tenth-ranked Longhorns 61-58
4. Another overtime thriller: Arthur Kaluma’s four-point play in the extra period boosts the ‘Cats past Baylor
3. Buddy Rich. That might say enough. The Wildcat freshman combines a steal with a slam as he yanks the ball away from a UCF defender at the rim
2. Serena Sundlell combines brain-power with elite athleticism as she uses a Colorado defenders back for a pass to herself from the baseline. The bucket, which she was also fouled on, gave K-State the lead at halftime before ultimately falling to the Buffs in the round of 32′
1. It’s Mr. Rich again. Macaleab ‘Buddy’ Rich delivers a put-back slam after jumping from behind the basket on an in-bounds pass. K-State beat Central Arkansas 100-56
