MANHATTAN (KSNT) – If you watched non-conference home K-State men’s basketball games, Ben Boyle was on the call for play-by-play on ESPN+.
Boyle made the trip to the K-Nation studio to talk about what he’s seen from the Wildcats now that Big 12 play has started.
After two close wins at home for K-State during the week, Boyle says it reminded him of how the ‘Cats felt after a one-point loss on the road at Texas Tech.
“You got to feel like Baylor and Oklahoma State walked out of Bramlage thinking what K-State did in Lubbock, ‘How’d we lose that game?'” Boyle said. “A lot of momentum going into this week.”
It’s already been a chaotic season for Tang’s squad, between Nae’Qwan Tomlin’s dismissal, the injury of reserve guard Ques Glover and multiple overtime games. Boyle says that that made it hard for the team to understand itself early, but the ‘Cats are beginning to find their groove.
“I think roles are more defined now,” Boyle said. “I think they’ve gone to, ‘Ok, we have to defend and rebound now,’ and that’s their new identity.”
Boye also discussed the power of the Big 12, how good Arthur Kaluma can be and more.
