Washburn basketball swept in Tahlequah

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (KSNT) – The Ichabods suffered a pair of losses on the court on Saturday.

Washburn men’s and women’s basketball both fell to Northeastern State. The Riverhawks won the men’s game 77-66 and the women’s game 66-62.

For the women, Nia McKenzie and Liz Boyd led WU with 12 points each. Aubree Dewey finished with a double-double thanks to her 11 points and 10 rebounds. Washburn falls to 11-10 overall and 6-9 in conference play.

For the men, Brady Christiansen led the ‘Bods with 15 points and 10 boards. Washburn led for only 54 seconds of the 40 minute contest. Brett Ballard’s team falls to 14-7 overall and 10-5 in the MIAA.

Both Washburn hoops squads return to action with a home game on Wednesday, Feb. 7 against Missouri Western.
