20 February 2024
A southerly breeze will once again warm us back up nicely. We will not break any records but high temperatures will be well above the norm in the 60s and 70s.
Skies will be mostly sunny as high pressure sits to our west. This will keep us dry too.
Our next system moves in during the middle of the week and will bring a chance for rain and a slight cooldown. A few spotty showers begin to develop by Wednesday evening.
The southeast corner of the area needs to be monitored for the potential of a strong to severe storm Wednesday night. The Storm Prediction Center has moved an isolated severe storm risk into counties east of Sedgwick county.
Any storms that develop during the night will quickly get carried off to our east. A few raindrops could linger into Thursday morning but as the system quickly tracks to the east we will dry back out.
Temperatures take a hit during the second part of the work week but highs in the 50s and 60s will still be pleasant for this time of year.
Temperatures turn spring-like again over the weekend and skies will be sunny. However, we have some windy days ahead, especially into next week, and with the uptick in temperatures there will also be an uptick in talks of fire danger.
