26 March 2024
Snow is wrapping up. There will still be some to the north and northeast through daybreak but the rest of the day will be dry.
Snow early this morning is barely skimming a few of our northernmost counties but some winter weather alerts will remain in effect through 7am, including a Blizzard Warning for Furnas county in Nebraska.
A Winter Weather Advisory for a handful of our Kansas counties to the north will also be in effect until 7am.
We are feeling the effects of a strong cold front. Wind chills are bitterly cold this morning.
A gusty northwest breeze keeps pumping unseasonable cold into the area today. High temperatures will only be able to reach the 40s as some sun breaks free from the clouds.
This blast of winter cold will be brief though. We have warmer days ahead and we will be in the 70s by the end of the week.
There will be unsettled skies to our west later today with some rain and snow in Colorado. This moisture will attempt to make its way into our area later tonight.
Some snow and rain will be possible to the west during the overnight. Any wintry weather will switch to rain as temperatures warm above freezing Wednesday but do not expect to see much, most of us will be dry.
A more significant system takes shape early next week. Showers, storms, and even more wintry weather are all looking possible.
