WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — United Way of the Plains is hosting a free financial resource fair on Friday.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Evergreen Community Center and Library at 2601 N. Arkansas Ave.
Participants can learn about banking options, free tax preparation, utility assistance and other community resources.
IRS-certified volunteers will offer free tax preparation services at the event for those who qualify for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. Households must earn less than $64,000 to qualify for the tax preparation program. Walk-ins are welcomed. Appointments for other dates can be made by calling United Way’s 211 Information and Referral Service.
A list of items that should be brought to tax preparation appointments can be found at unitedwayplains.org/taxprep. The 2024 tax filing deadline is Monday, April 15.
