Trump and Haley face off in New Hampshire

23 January 2024

WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) – It’s a one-on-one matchup in New Hampshire as Donald Trump and Nikki Haley face off in the nation’s first primary Tuesday night.

The New Hampshire secretary of state predicts record voter turnout in this first in the nation primary.

Former President Donald Trump is predicting a landslide win in New Hampshire.

“I think one person will be gone probably tomorrow,” he said.

Haley says she’s hoping for a strong showing with the help of independent voters who are eligible to vote in the Republican primary.

“I’m running against Donald Trump, and I’m not going to talk about an obituary,” she said.

Haley’s team says a 2nd place finish in New Hampshire would be just fine.

Keeping a decades-long tradition, the tiny community of Dixville Notch voted at midnight.

Haley won all six votes.

“We’re very grateful for that. It’s a good start for the day,” she said.

Both Haley and Trump will be in New Hampshire Tuesday night and are expected to speak to supporters once results are in.
