Travel delays expected with highway work in Norton County

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Work on a highway north of Norton is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 1.

The Kansas Department of Transportation says that 11 miles of U.S. Highway 283 will be milled and resurfaced. The work will start near Armory Drive and end north at the Nebraska state line. Crews will also resurface a portion between Washington Street and North Street.


U.S. 40 bridge replacement to cause 127-mile detour

Traffic will be directed through the work zones by flaggers and a pilot car. Motorists should plan for delays of 15 minutes or less.

KDOT expects work on the $2.9 million project to be completed in early May.
