Topeka teacher arrested for alleged sex crimes from 2018

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – A Topeka teacher has been arrested by the Kansas Bureau of Investigations for alleged sex crimes.

On Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 6 p.m., the 38-year-old male teacher was arrested with a warrant for rape and aggravated criminal sodomy, according to a press release from the KBI.

In May 2023, a former student reported incidents to the KBI that took place between January and May 2018 when he was their music teacher at USD 452 in Johnson City.


Wichita woman gets probation in shooting death of teen

The teacher is currently employed at a Topeka school but has been on administrative leave since June 2023, when KBI agents brought the investigation to school officials. According to the press release, he was arrested and booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.

KSN does not name suspects until they have been formally charged.
