TOPEKA (KSNT) – A new event and wedding venue situated east of Topeka’s downtown area is getting ready to step up its game by featuring live music.
Located in close proximity to the Topeka Vendor’s Market and Topeka ReHome, Topeka Social’s manager Lauren Edwards hopes to add a place for locals to listen and dance to live music.
“I personally love how this building and this block in general has gone from a once deserted area to something that’s trying to bring back life,” Edwards said. “I think it’s really exciting being a part of something new, bringing some entertainment, some shopping.”
Edwards recently took to social media to ask Topekans what type of music they would like to see featured at Topeka Social in the future. Options presented in the poll included salsa, country, jazz, pop and rock music.
She said the poll has gained a lot of traction so far with locals interested in finding a place to dance in the city. For the time being, Topeka Social may have two of these types of events this year.
While the event space opened in 2023, Topeka Social is still undergoing renovations. You can find Topeka Social at 518 SE Adams Street.
