JACKSON COUNTY, KS. (KSNT) – At approximately 4:52 a.m. Sunday, the Jackson County Sheriff’s office received reports of a single-vehicle accident on fire in the median near 182nd and U.S. Hwy 75. The vehicle, a 2006 Ford Fusion, was heading southbound when it hit a guardrail, according to a press release.
Three minutes later, at 4:55 a.m., the vehicle was reported as “fully engulfed”. When deputies arrived, they found a victim who was severely injured and bleeding profusely.
Life-saving treatment was given at the scene. The victim, a Topeka man, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
