TOPEKA (KSNT) – Work crews will be replacing traffic signals at three intersections on Topeka Boulevard starting next week.
Shawnee County Public Information Officer Amanda Monhollon said in a press release that work is expected to start on Monday, March 25. Workers will be at three intersections on south Topeka Boulevard including:
SW 57th Street
SW University Boulevard
SW Gary Ormsby Drive
The project will be administered by the Kansas Department of Transportation on behalf of the county. The traffic signals will be replaced with newer ones to improve the safety of drivers and coordinate with nearby BNSF railway crossing signals.
While none of the intersections are expected to close, Monhollon said drivers should be prepared for temporary lane closings. People driving through these intersections are encouraged to follow any warning signs and be aware of construction activities taking place.
