MANHATTAN (KSNT) – The Flint Hills Discovery Center (FHDC) announced it will be hosting an event to give kids hands-on experiences with science technology and math topics.
The event, Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab, will teach kids about electricity, materials science, coding, magnetism, optics, soundwaves and air pressure. Kids can interact with machines that make work easier such as levers, inclined planes, pulleys, screws, wedges, wheels and axles.
“The exhibit does an amazing job of showing kids just how a few creative individuals, like Thomas Edison, can completely change how we live our lives.” said Stephen Bridenstine, FHDC Assistant Director, “By making science learning a fun hands-on experience, Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab will inspire the next generation of innovators who will shape our very future.”
Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab will be held Jan. 20 through May 5 at the FHDC in Manhattan. The FHDC in Manhattan is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
