The Big Dill Weekend pickle festival ready to open in Manhattan

MANHATTAN (KSNT) – Pickle lovers in northeast Kansas are invited to stop by a local farm south of Manhattan for a savory pickle-themed event this weekend.

A & H Farm is holding its Big Dill Weekend this Saturday and Sunday for all the local pickle lovers. This event will feature a verified smorgasbord of pickles and pickle-themed products and fun activities for people to come out and enjoy.

An employee at A & H Farm said at the Big Dill Weekend, you can find products like fried pickles, pickle cookies and even pickle Chapstick. This is alongside other products that you might expect to find at a farm including cheeses, milk, candies and beef jerky.

There are three ticket tiers to choose from which can be purchased ahead of time online or at the gate on the day of the event. These are sold at varying prices depending on if you buy the tickets online or at the door with those purchasing online receiving a small discount.

Gherkin: Gets you inside the farm, access to games, samples and all farm activities like the petting zoo and big slide. Children two years old and under get in for free. These are $13 ($2 fee) online and $17.99 at the door.

Sweet Pickle: Everything in the Gherkin ticket tier along with a ‘comeback pass’ for 2024, one beverage, two stickers/tattoos, a snack item (kettle corn, cotton candy, etc.), one souvenir cup and one souvenir bag. These are $28 ($2 fee) online and $44.99 at the door.

Big Dill: Everything in the Gherkin ticket tier along with a comeback pass for 2024, two beverages, five stickers/tattoos, one entrée (dill pickle grilled cheese or dill mac & cheese), one side dish (pickles, baked/fried pickles, pinwheels, pickle pasta salad, etc.), one snack item, one fun surprise, one pickle popsicle, one jar of pickles (16 oz), personal sized bag of pet candy to feed the farm animals, one budgie stick to feed the birds, pickle novelty item, one souvenir cup and one souvenir bag. These are $55 ($5 fee) and $69.99 at the door.
