Texas men charged with Wichita bank robbery

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Two Texas men were charged with robbing a bank in Wichita last year.

The United States Attorney’s Office says 18-year-old Demond M. Johnson and 25-year-old Ryan D. Smith, both of Houston, are charged with one count of bank robbery.

Prosecutors allege the two men robbed the Credit Union of America on South Ridge Road on Oct. 17, 2023. The Wichita Police Department and FBI investigated the case.


Road construction to begin on 2 Kansas interstates

If convicted, the two face up to 20 years in prison.
