Swim to a Wish is back for a 12th year

23 February 2024

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Swim to a Wish is back at Campus High School for its 12th year, raising money for the Make a Wish Foundation.

Five swim team members from Derby, Campus High School and Wichita North will swim a total of 100 miles. Each leg is one mile long, and each swimmer will swim 20 times around the clock until they reach 100 miles.

Swimmers can receive flat donations, or they can get donations per mile. People are also able to swim support miles with the participants. They do not need to sign up in advance; they can just show up and swim.

Swim to a Wish began in 2013 when Campus High School boys swimmers wanted to do a fundraiser. Make a Wish helped head coach Kelly Kennedy and his family, so they wanted to give back to them.

In 11 years, they have raised $300,000. You can donate or sponsor a team here. The website stays open 30 days after the event ends.

Salina South and Salina Central are also participating at Salina South High School beginning Friday at 3 p.m.
