TOPEKA (KSNT) – On Thursday, Stormont Vail Health and the 70th Brown Anniversary Coalition will host a community forum to discuss gun violence.
Trauma Surgeon and Author of “The Bodies Keep Coming” Dr. Brian Williams will be the virtual keynote speaker at “The Health of the BIPOC Community – A Discussion on Gun Violence” forum. Dr. Williams is a nationally recognized leader in the intersection of public policy, structural racism, gun violence and health equity, according to Stormont Vail Health.
Other regional speakers will also speak on the effect of gun violence from the perspectives of care providers, family members, mental health professionals and community activists, according to a press release from Stormont Vail Health.
Informational booths will also be available. Booths can be found outside the Pozez Education Center Auditorium attached to the Topeka hospital. Attendees are asked to park in the hospital parking garage and enter through the main entrance.
The event will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on March 21 at the Stormont Vail Health Topeka Hospital auditorium.
