Stormont Vail Health buys building in downtown Topeka

1 February 2024

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Stormont Vail Health has finished the purchase of a building across from the Capital Building in downtown Topeka.

On Thursday, Stormont Vail Health announced it had purchased Capitol Tower to be converted into a location for administrative and support services.

“The addition of this office building provides us the opportunity to bring together departments that support our clinical operations into one location from multiple buildings,” said Dr. Rob Kenagy, President and Chief Executive Officer, Stormont Vail Health. “We had been considering the benefits of a service center when this building became available and fit our needs. It will provide space for administrative functions, and in turn, by relocating some of those operations, will open up needed space for clinical areas.”

The building located at SW 8th and Harrison formerly had offices for Colgate Palmolive and Hill’s Pet Nutrition. The building features seven stories with 143,934 square feet of office space. There are 300 covered parking spaces next to the building.

Stormont Vail Health said it would be moving some departments into the building in a phased process in 2024.
