A cold start to our Sunday with temperatures in the 20s and 30s. Hardly a cloud in the sky overnight helped things to cool down quickly.
After a chilly early morning, the afternoon today might be as perfect of a day as you could ever ask for. Sunny skies, light winds, and temperatures rising to the low and middle 70s.
Make sure you spend some time outside today! Breezy and dry conditions may develop in northwest Kansas and southwest Nebraska and brings the fire danger back up for the afternoon.
Temperatures fall quickly again tonight once the sun goes down, but still not too cold by the time you get up Monday morning.
Temperatures keep warming up tomorrow as we soar to the upper 70s in Wichita! Winds start to increase, especially across southwest Kansas, and there will be more clouds in the sky.
Fire danger continues to increase into the next several days as winds get stronger Monday and Tuesday. Fire Weather Watches will take effect at 11 in the morning both Monday and Tuesday, lasting through the evening both days in southwest Kansas.
Winds will be strong, especially on Tuesday. This may lead to more of a fire threat farther east.
The wind strengthens ahead of an approaching sharp cold front. This will cause a drastic drop in temperatures from Tuesday afternoon through the night.
Moisture with the front will be limited, but a few rain and snow showers will be possible overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning.
The cold air quickly exits later in the week, and we will be back to the 70s by next weekend.
