Storm Track 3 Forecast: Cold start to the week, unsettled pattern takes hold

17 March 2024

Pleasant temperatures for St. Patrick’s Day! Cooler than we were yesterday, but highs were near our seasonal average as northerly winds brought cooler air into the region.

We continue to see chilly temperatures overnight. With clear skies and northerly winds, lows will fall into the 10s and 20s throughout the state.

Wind chills will feel even colder. By the time we head out the door tomorrow, it will be feeling more like the teens across the region with a few low 20s. Be sure to send the kids off to the bus stop with a jacket, but they might not need it by the afternoon.

Highs will range from the 50s to the 60s. Skies will stay sunny with winds starting from the north but slowly becoming westerly throughout the day.

Temperatures jump nearly 20 degrees by Tuesday as strong southerly winds help launch a warmer trend for the rest of the week.

An unsettled pattern takes hold by the middle of the week. An area of low pressure will slide past to our south and bring rain chances for some for the second half of the week. A few rumbles of thunder will also be possible with any showers that pop up.

Skies stay unsettled through the weekend as rain chances linger as we head into the start of next week.
