Moisture is on its way out this morning, but it will take a little more time to get it out the door. Another round of fog in central Kansas is expected to last through the morning.
Some early rain and wintry mix in southeast Kansas will be gone by daybreak, and then we stay dry for the rest of the day. Clouds break for western Kansas first and allow for sunshine, but the clearing line does not make it to Wichita until the late afternoon, with a few peeks of sun late in the day.
Temperatures will be a bit chilly for eastern Kansas with the lack of sunshine, with highs nearing 50 in western Kansas.
Overnight, skies clear and we settle in for a cold one with lows in the 20s.
Waking up Sunday morning with clear skies and light winds, it will be a beautiful day outside as we bring temperatures up into the 50s!
We say goodbye to the colder weather this week as high pressure takes control in the upper atmosphere, and that brings us a strong warming trend into the 60s for much of the week.
A weak cold front sneaks in on Wednesday but it will be dry and only takes a few degrees off the top around midweek.
Down the road, a powerful storm system is expected to come onshore in California later in the week, and this has its sights set on Kansas in about a week’s time.
Rain chances are looking healthy by next weekend, and this will also come with a cooldown that may bring the return of some snow chances especially to western Kansas.
