Storm Track 3 Forecast: Above-average temperatures continue for the workweek

19 February 2024

We got a taste of spring this afternoon with temperatures in the 50s. This is nearly 20 degrees warmer than our highs yesterday.

Skies stay clear and starry tonight with winds out of the south. Temperatures dip back into the 20s and 30s by the start of Monday.

Temperatures continue to climb for the start of the week. Highs will reach the upper 50s and low 60s across the region. Southwesterly winds become northwesterly by the evening as a weak boundary passes across the state.

High pressure will remain in control for the first half of the week. This will create a pattern of above-average temperatures and sunny skies through Wednesday.

Our next piece of energy arrives late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning. This cold front will try to squeeze out a few showers with the highest probability of moisture staying in northwest Kansas. The front will also bring a shot of colder air to the Sunflower State.

Despite the passing cold front, temperatures stay well above the norm for the next seven days. We fall from the 70s to the low 60s by Friday but will slowly warm again through next weekend.
