A bit of light snow across western Kansas this morning has produced some slick spots on the roads. A Winter Weather Advisory continues through the morning for far southwest Kansas and the Oklahoma Panhandle, though some slick spots may be found a little farther east and north.
Snow is just about done for Kansas this morning, but a winter storm is gearing up to the south. A few lingering snow showers through the early morning, then dry for the rest of the day.
If you have travel plans that take you toward OKC, travel with caution. You may encounter heavy snow and roads may be slick to the south.
Temperatures will be chilly today but some sunshine will build into our skies later in the day, and that will help us feel a little better by the end of the day. Highs expected in the 30s and 40s.
Snow moves east and may try to clip the southeast corner of the KSN viewing area tonight, but most will stay dry through the evening.
Tomorrow, skies clear up and temperatures start to warm. Returning to the 50s for most, with winds turning toward the southwest.
A mostly quiet week ahead with warming temps and abundant sunshine. Toward the end of the week, another system swings through.
This will not be especially strong as the low develops a little too far east and a little too late to give us much hope of moisture. Central to Eastern Kansas may get a few showers or snowflakes, but most of this avoids the KSN viewing area.
Temperatures take a tumble as this system passes and drags a cold front through, and that keeps next weekend on the chilly side.
