ST. LOUIS (KTVI) — There’s a large police presence at a hotel in downtown St. Louis where police are responding to a hostage incident.
Authorities say an armed man was holding a woman and children in a room at the Drury Hotel at 4th and Market.
As of 9:30 a.m., two children from inside the room were released, and St. Louis police were able to evacuate guests from the building. The woman is still being held hostage, according to police.
Officials have yet to report on any possible injuries, or on what floor the hostage situation was unfolding.
St. Louis City Police and a SWAT team are at the scene. Officers are urging locals to avoid the area if they can.
