Southwestern College alumni to perform at the Oscars

WINFIELD, Kan. (KSNW) — Southwestern College alumni Amos Daily will be performing at the Oscars on Sunday. He graduated in 2009.

According to the Southwestern College Alumni and Friends Facebook page, Daily will be performing with the Osage Singers during the 96th presentation of the Academy Awards.


Tanganyika Wildlife Park opens for the season

They will be performing “Wahzhazhe (A Song For My People),” written by Osage songwriter Scott George, for which he was nominated for an Oscar. The song was featured in “Killers of the Flower Moon.”

The movie was shot just over an hour south of Southwestern College in Oklahoma. It has been nominated for 10 Academy Awards, including one for Best Original Song.
