SILVER LAKE (KSNT) – While the City of Topeka undergoes a Boil Water Advisory, one business in a neighboring town is offering clean water to the public.
Blacksmith Event Centre in Silver Lake is giving away free water for anyone in need. This comes as the City of Topeka and parts of Shawnee County remain on a Boil Water Advisory since last Sunday. The business posted on social media that people in need of clean water can receive multiple gallons.
We understand the importance of clean water and are here to help. Join us tonight to receive up to 5 gallons of FREE water per person. All you need to do is bring your own containers; our team will fill them up for you.

According to the social media post, the water is sourced from Silver Lake and has been put through a purification process through the city’s osmosis system.
“We are committed to supporting our community and hope this initiative helps those in need,” Blacksmith Event Centre said on social media.
The water distribution event is first come, first serve. The business asks that individuals bring their own container for collecting the water. Blacksmith Event Centre will be distributing water Wednesday, Jan. 17 from 5-7 p.m. at the event center, 101 W Railroad St. in Silver Lake. According to the social media post, water distribution will go as long as the system can accommodate the demands or until 7 p.m.
