Showers, storms, and a severe risk Monday

1 April 2024

Our next storm system has arrived and is not generating much moisture yet but it will likely spark some showers and storms later today. There will also be a drastic impact to our temperatures.

Cooler temperatures will be found to the north while warmer air sticks around to the southeast. Winds of change will be gusty too.

A few passing showers are possible early in the day but chances will be widespread later today. Thunderstorms will need to be monitored closely.

A few strong to severe storms will be possible as we head into the evening. The greatest risk will be closer to Southeast Kansas. All forms of severe weather are on the table so please be weather aware later today.

Rain and rumbles stick around into the night. Showers and storms will not be as widespread into the overnight. We will also need to watch out for a switch to wintry weather to the west.

Temperatures will dip just below freezing in Western Kansas. Any snow that sticks to the ground will not amount to much though.

A few showers linger into Tuesday. Moisture tracks to the east and will be gone by the afternoon.

The rest of the work week will be dry with warming temperatures.

Another system swings through over the weekend. Rain and thunderstorm chances are looking low so far but this could change.
