KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City police are responding to shooting near the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl rally at Union Station, officials say.
At the conclusion of the rally, there were shots fired west of Union Station near the garage and several people were struck, a KCPD spokesperson said.
The shooting happened near West Pershing and Kessler roads.
Two armed people have been detained, pending further investigation, police said.
Police said officers are working to clear Union Station itself, and they will release everyone inside the building once that is complete.
Kansas City police are instructing Super Bowl parade-goers to leave the area as quickly and safely as possible, avoiding the Union Station parking garage.
