WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The offense was rolling for Wichita State as the Shockers won their second game in a row, taking down the Rice Owls on Saturday, 87-66.
Colby Rogers and Harlond Beverly were the main offensive output for the shockers, scoring 25 and 23, respectively. Dalen Ridgnal scored 11 as well.
As a team, the Shockers shot 52.6% from the field and a blistering 63.6% from three, and outrebounded the Owls 29-19 before the game was all said and done.
The game was fairly tight throughout the first half, but a three-pointer by Rogers with seconds left before the break put the Shockers ahead 42-39. Wichita State increased it’s lead substantially in the second half, outscoring the Owls 45-27 in the final 20 minutes of action.
The 87 points the Shockers scored is the most in one game since Nov. 19, 2023, when they scored 88 against Saint Louis.
The win moves the Shockers to 13-17 overall and 5-12 in AAC play this season. Wichita State will head on the road for the season finale, a matchup with Tulane.
That game is scheduled for Friday, March 8 and will tip off at 8 p.m.
