TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says there are two active recalls in the U.S. for male sexual enhancement drugs.
The first recall involves the company ‘Today The World’ of Vancouver, Washington. This company has issued a voluntary recall for two lots of its Sustain herbal dietary supplement capsules and one lot of its Schwinnng capsules sold at the consumer level.
Analysis by the FDA found these products contained undeclared Tadalafil and Nortadalafil, both of which are used to treat male erectile dysfunction. The presence of Tadalafil and Nortadalafil makes them unapproved new drugs for which safety and efficacy haven’t been established yet. These products were distributed through www.amazon.com, www.sustainformula.com and www.schwinnng.com across the country.
A separate but similar recall issued for a single lot of Arize Herbal Dietary Supplement capsules, also being voluntarily recalled by Today The World, involves the use of undeclared Nortadalafil. These were distributed nationwide through www.getarize.com.
The FDA said the primary risk in consumption of these recalled pills comes from the undeclared Tadalafil and/or Nortadalafil which may interact with nitrates found in other drugs and cause a potential life-threatening drop in blood pressure. Those with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease are most at risk including men who use nitrates for cardiac conditions.
To date, the FDA says no adverse reactions have been reported in connection to the recalled products. If you have experienced any issues with the recalled products, you can send reports online or call 1-800-332-1088.
Today The World is arranging for the return and replacement of all recalled products. If you purchased any of the recalled products, you are encouraged to stop using them and return or destroy them. If you have any questions, send an email to [email protected], [email protected] or [email protected]. You can also call 1-888-767-4889 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. PST for instructions on the return and refund process.
