Severe thunderstorm watch: Kansas counties east of Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The KSN Storm Track 3 Weather is monitoring the potential of severe weather in Kansas.

Already, the National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m. Monday for Butler, Chase, Chautauqua, Cowley, Elk, Greenwood, Lyon and Sumner County.

Further south in Oklahoma, a tornado watch is in place until 9 p.m. It includes Kay County in the KSN viewing area.

Large hail and damaging winds are the primary hazards. The weather team says a tornado cannot be ruled out. Have multiple ways of receiving warnings this evening, including the free Storm Track 3 Weather app.
