Self ejected, Jayhawks blown out in Lubbock

13 February 2024

LUBBOCK, Texas (KSNT) – The struggles on the road continued for KU men’s basketball on Monday.

The Jayhawks have been nearly polar opposite when suiting up as the visitors, compared to games played in Allen Fieldhouse. Texas Tech hammered No. 6 Kansas on ESPN’s Big Monday, beating KU 79-50.

Kansas was without senior Kevin McCullar Jr. in the loss. He also missed Saturday’s game against Baylor due to a lingering injury.

Bill Self was ejected late in the second half after receiving two technical fouls. Kansas falls to 2-5 in away games. The Jayhawks’ record now sits at 19-6 overall and 7-5 in Big 12 play.

If KU wants to bounce back, it will have to do so with a road win. The ‘Hawks visit Oklahoma on Saturday, Feb. 17.
