Sedgwick County sheriff’s lieutenant accused of DUI

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A lieutenant with the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office has been arrested, suspected of driving under the influence.

The sheriff’s office says it happened Sunday while the lieutenant was not on duty and in his personal vehicle. An officer with the Maize Police Department stopped him for traffic violations, including driving under the influence.

The sheriff’s office says he has been relieved of duty pending the outcome of the investigation. According to the department, he has been with the sheriff’s office for 17 years.
