LAWRENCE (KSNT) – Sean Snyder is moving onto his next adventure after just one season with KU football.
Snyder announced plans to launch ‘Snyder Kicking’ on social media on Thursday. A KU Athletics source tells 27 News he will not be returning to KU’s staff in 2024. Snyder’s new business involves coaching and instruction and NCAA restrictions don’t permit him to do so while remaining with Kansas football. KU Athletics says it was Snyder’s decision to move on.
Sean, the son of legendary K-State head coach Bill Snyder, was hired at KU in March of 2023. He worked as a special assistant to the head coach in his lone season with the Jayhawks.
Snyder says his new business, Snyder Kicking, will provide instruction for kickers, punters and snappers while also offering recruiting insight and special teams clinics. Prior to coming to Lawrence, Snyder spent the previous two seasons as the special teams coordinator at USC. He spent more than two decades at K-State, including working as the special teams coordinator/associate head coach from 2011-2018.
Sean said in April that his dad, Bill, had no issue with him joining the in-state rival after the two worked together for years in Manhattan, Kansas.
