TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of a phone scam.
At 12:24 p.m., the sheriff’s office issued a scam warning on social media. According to the sheriff’s office, scammers are claiming to be from the Shawnee County Courthouse or the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office. The scammers claim the victim missed jury duty and have a warrant for their arrest.
The sheriff’s office reminds residents they would never call or ask for money or gift cards.
