Salina Police seek public comment for upcoming accreditation

2 February 2024

SALINA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Salina Police Department is seeking public comment for its upcoming accreditation.

Like most law enforcement agencies across the US, the department is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). Agencies must be recertified every four years.

However, according to CALEA, the process is a cycle with each department required to provide a yearly status update, update agency information and statistics, and a web-based review by CALEA. In the fourth year, CALEA conducts an on-site assessment, and there is a committee review.

Part of the process includes feedback from the public. Those who wish to provide feedback can do so by clicking here.
